Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions you'll make while planning your destination wedding in Italy. As a destination wedding photographer, I understand that you’re not just looking for beautiful photos; you’re looking for someone who will capture the essence of your love story in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. I strive to offer a seamless, stress-free experience, ensuring that your wedding day is preserved through stunning, timeless photographs.
In this blog post, I want to walk you through my photography process so you can know exactly what to expect from the moment you inquire until the final photos are delivered. This transparency is key to building trust and ensuring that we’re a great fit for your special day.
1. Initial Inquiry and Consultation
The first step in the process is the inquiry. Once you reach out to me, I’ll provide you with detailed information about my services, pricing, and availability. I believe in personalized communication and service, so we’ll get to know each other better through an initial consultation. Whether it’s through a phone call, Zoom, or in-person meeting, I’ll take the time to understand your wedding vision, location, and the unique elements of your day.
What to Expect:
A warm, friendly, and open conversation about your wedding and what you're looking for in a photographer.
A breakdown of how to build your custom package, including all-day coverage, editing, and additional services (second shooter, engagement session, etc.).
An opportunity for you to ask any questions about my work, style, or approach to photography.
2. Booking and Contract Signing
Once we’ve had our initial conversation and you’re ready to move forward, we’ll go ahead and secure the date with a contract and a deposit. The contract is essential to clarify all the details about the services I will provide, including the wedding timeline, payment schedules, and rights to your images.
What to Expect:
An easy, straightforward contract that covers the key details of our partnership.
A deposit of 50% of the total fee, which locks in your date and ensures priority scheduling. (final payment is due two weeks prior to the wedding)
3. Pre-Wedding Planning and Timeline
About 6-8 weeks before the wedding, we’ll start the planning phase. This is where I work closely with you and your planner (if you have one) to fine-tune the timeline, confirm the details, and get all the information I need to capture your day seamlessly.
What to Expect:
A collaborative discussion about the wedding day timeline to ensure I’m capturing everything important (getting ready, first look, ceremony, portrait session, reception, etc.).
A list of family formals or any special requests for photos.
Details about the venue, lighting, and logistical considerations for the day (e.g., any surprises, key moments, or must-have shots).
If you have an engagement session, we’ll schedule it at this time as well!
4. The Wedding Day: Coverage with Ease
On your wedding day, my approach is to blend in and capture your day as it naturally unfolds. Whether you're getting married in the romantic streets of Rome, the picturesque hills of Tuscany, or by the breathtaking waters of Lake Como, I focus on capturing authentic moments that reflect the emotions of the day. I want you to be able to relax and enjoy the moment while I document it in my signature photojournalistic style, combined with artistic portraits.
What to Expect:
Two photographers (if you opt for a second shooter) to ensure coverage of every angle, especially if you're getting ready in separate locations.
Minimal interference, allowing the day to unfold naturally while still guiding you through key moments and portraits.
Attention to detail, from your dress and decor to candid moments with family and friends.
5. Post-Wedding: Editing and Image Delivery
Once your wedding day is over, the real work begins! Editing your images is where I bring your story to life. I take my time with every image, ensuring the color, lighting, and emotional depth reflect the beauty of your wedding day. On average, it takes 6-8 weeks for me to complete the full gallery, but I always aim to get your photos back to you as soon as possible. You’ll receive your images in an online gallery for easy access and sharing with friends and family.
What to Expect:
A fully edited gallery showcasing around 500-800 images (depending on the size of your wedding).
High-resolution photos for print, as well as social media-friendly versions for easy sharing.
A private gallery link that you can share with family and friends, where they can download and even purchase prints.
6. Your Wedding Album (Optional)
One of the most important parts of my service is creating a wedding album that will serve as a timeless keepsake. If you choose to purchase an album, I’ll guide you through the design process, helping you select the images that best tell the story of your day. Once the design is finalized, I’ll arrange for the album to be professionally printed and bound.
What to Expect:
A personalized, custom-designed album with your choice of images.
A high-quality, heirloom piece that tells the full story of your wedding day.
A smooth, collaborative design process to ensure it’s exactly what you envision.
7. Final Delivery and Lasting Memories
Once your gallery is ready and your album (if ordered) is printed, I’ll deliver everything to you with care and love. You’ll have all your memories stored digitally, as well as a beautiful physical album to cherish for generations to come.
What to Expect:
A beautiful wedding experience from start to finish, with clear communication and no surprises.
A stunning album that tells your story and serves as a keepsake for years to come.
A gallery filled with heartfelt memories you can share with family, friends, and loved ones.
